Regina Spektor @ The Commodore Ballroom

I'm planning to see Regina Spektor at the Commodore Ballroom tonite, Saturday, April 21st. For any Bjork or Cat Power fans, this is a must. This event has been sold out for weeks and, dare i say, bribery and some legal push-comes-to-shove has landed me a ticket -- it also pays to know some staff there. Given the lineup of events in Vancouver this very evening -- I propose you snag your roommates' Regina Spektor tickers and don't look back. Why, you ask, well.... here's one: Y'all should think back to the sweetest scenes on Grey's Anatomy and ask yourself, whose music was i listening to at the time -- and yah, Regina should come back to you, once again.

That said, if you don't (1) get a chance to snagg your roomies tix; or (2) to barter-slash-trade with the doorboys; or, better yet, to hack ticketmaster for that last yay-few of tickets -- i DO propose to grab a copy of her latest CD, Begin to Hope and chill to her anti-folk intersects with the alternative singer/songwriter sound often attributed to Regina Spektor. The notable thing about the latest album is not only her voice, or her sweetness, or even her kindness, but also that she writes her own material -- something that can't be said for alot of musicians these days, let's face it. But you know, I don't have to frame her in a lust for caterogies of my own -- you be the judge. And let us know :)
