♦ 1/2 Alive w/ South Rakkas @ Richard's On Richards (10pm): Mash-ups and more with Vancouver's DJ's Tyler Fedchuck, Tonyx and My!Gay!Husband! plus MC Curtis Santiago.
♦ Pinback @ Richard's On Richards (7pm, Sold Out): A San Diego based alt-indie band.
♦ Fake Shark Real Zombie @ The Biltmore: This show is an album release and tour kick-off. Fill up on punk, screamo, and "happy hardcore". The Clips and Japanroids will also grace the stage.
Saturday, Feb 16
♦ Wintersleep @ The Commodore (Sold Out): "Oh have you seen my ghost? Seen my ghost, seen my ghost...". Vancouver's Ladyhawk will open.
♦ Ghost House @ The Astoria Hotel: A local band who have gained great reviews in Exclaim and Discorder. Also playing: Navy Black and Feather Wolf.
♦ Say Hi @ The Royal Unicorn Cabaret: Seattle alt-Indie band aka Say Hi to Your Mom.
♦ Marnie Mains @ Station Square Pub: Marnie Mains has a youthful voice that adds a pop twist to her acoustic-alternative song-writing.
Sunday, Feb 17
♦ Honey and Money @ Backstage Lounge: Those who aren't into the hyper-artsy music scene may prefer some honest homegrown pop. This show also features Dawntreader and Tariq.
♦ Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground @ The Media Club: This Seattle band is hard to place. Watch the video above to get a proper idea of what they play. They will share the stage with Siberian and Octoberman.
Tuesday, Feb 19
♦ Justin Nozuka & Hayley Sales @ Plaza Club: Toronto's Justin Nozuka has been getting recent air-time on Much Music for his song After Tonight. He's acoustic, earnest and soulful. Nozuka shares this stage with Vancouver Island's Hayley Sales (surf-pop).
Wednesday, Feb 20
♦ Corb Lund @ The Commodore (Day 1): Edmonton's Corb Lund plays folk-country. His album Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier! recently topped CBCradio3's charts. Hayes Carll opens.
♦ We Destroy Tokyo @ The Railway Club: . This experimental Vancouver band is instrumental and include a sax and a trumpet. DJ Richard C, DJ Hayze will by playing as well.
♦ Sia @ Richard's On Richards (Sold Out): Sia's Myspace bio begins: "my name is sia furler. i am a unicorn fart." Enjoy.

♦ The Italian Edition and Mydearestfriends @ The Railway Club: This is an release party for Memewar Magazine. My photos illustrate a feature in the issue, so come and check it out!

♦ Bonobo @ Richard's On Richards: A London act that creates the kind of psychedelic electronica that reminds me of Thievery Corporation (one of my favourites in this genre). Also playing: Paul Devro.
♦ Geronimo @ The Media Club: This rock-indie Regina band is booked to play at South by Southwest (in Austin, TX) in March. Kill The Lights will be opening.
♦ Biz Markie @ Plush: Here's a little oldschool for you! I remember singing the chorus of Just A Friend back in the day (it was oldschool then too). Rico Uno and DJ Headspin will also be about.
