Vancouver Music News: Yukon Blonde's new video, Music Waste looking for musicians, and Prairie Cat going on tour
In this edition: Yukon Blonde's new video for their song "Wind Blows", Music Waste Festival looking for musicians and Prairie Cat touring western Canada! Plus a live video of Zaac Pick at the Streaming Cafe.
Yukon Blonde's New Video
Just last week, the band Yukon Blonde released a video for their song "Wind Blows." The song is from their debut self-titled album (released in Canada Feb. 9th) and has been stuck in my head all day. It's very catchy. The video and song are warming on a rainy day; almost like a comforting cup of hot chocolate after coming in from the cold.
The video gets pretty exciting at the end when a spontaneous party breaks out. The party features balloons, confetti, and a random dog just chillin'.
The CD release party for Yukon Blonde's new album is happening at the Biltmore Cabaret on April 6th. At the moment, the band is touring eastern Canada and will be playing SXSW.

Music Waste Festival Accepting Submissions
Vancouver's independent music festival, Music Waste, is accepting applications for innovative bands/musicians now! This year, the festival will run from June 2-5th. Last year, Vancouver bands such as Sex With Strangers and Japandroids (plus many more) performed. I can't wait until the line-up for this year is finalized! The deadline to apply is April 15th. Watch Music Waste's Twitter feed for more info on the festival.
Prairie Cat Goes on Tour
Prairie Cat, solo project of Cary Pratt, is touring western Canada this month and the beginning of April. To start off the tour, he'll be playing Little Mountain Studios (located off Main St on east 26th avenue) on March 26th. See the rest of the tour dates here.
If you've never heard Prairie Cat before, watch his strange video for "Just Cuz'" below.
As a bonus, here's a live video of Zaac Pick performing his song "Maybelline" at the Streaming Cafe.
If you want to send Beyond Robson some news about your band or a band you know a lot about, please do!
