Campbell reveals Alcan holdings. Conflict of interest much?

A good round of layoffs will make you feel better, Gordo. Recent resignation signals more Pharmacare cuts to come.

Vancouver-Centre: Hedy Fry, Adrianne Carr, Lorne Mayencourt, and who?

Cambie shop owners: Compensation now! But, they want you to leave! It wouldn't be gentrification if you stayed, now would it?

Vancouver Housing Blogger's favourite sources. First in a new Tyee series.

Cultural Precinct: "Downtown Vancouver is on the brink of a jaw-dropping transformation that few citizens know much about, but it will change life in the city forever".

Meanwhile another cultural venue's future is up in the air. Literally. The Plaza of Nations roof is broken, and it might become a hotel. But don't worry, the casino is safe.

Vote for the Golden Plate Awards.

The supergroup of supergroups. Vancouver's Swan Lake.

People's Prom, ya right! For the people by the people is it? Hmmm, sounds exclusive and by that I mean exclusionary. Have fun in your little bubble you radical partiers! Kudos on the activism and charity work though.

While I'm no Campbell fan, I did want to point out that the 'conflict of interest' is a bit misleading. Having a portfolio managed by someone like Canaccord typically means that he's handed over decision-making on his stocks to someone else, which will include their buying Alcan shares without Campbell even knowing it. It's akin to investing in mutual funds, where you generally know what industries you might have stock in, but leave the management (including the buying and selling) up to someone else.
