morningbrew.jpgMorning Brew: Oh, there's a war on, there's a war on. Maybe, just maybe, people are a little weary, Mr. Cooper, of your war coverage, and they'd like a little something else. Maybe that's why they all thundered to this story.

The Province gets wet as Surrey opts for broken windows approach to crime.

And proclaim that Green Oscars are just silly. Yeah, doing stuff about climate change is dumb man.

Holy shit. They are really on a roll today! "It's when you have a chorus of armchair observers shouting unsolicited advice, amplified by a gullible media." Yeah man, we should have like one media outlet monitored by the government that isn't critical and stuff, and we shouldn't allow people to have like freedoms of opinion and stuff because we gotta fight these terrorists who hate our freedom.

Oh but I thought you were so happy with the budget Sam? thought you were so pleased with yourself for convincing the Province to spend money on housing...

Eagle Ridge activist dies.

BC gas Teresen Gas bought back from yanks. Now we just need to get back Molson, The Bay, Labatt, Husky, Hotel Vancouver, Eatons, Tim Hortons, Bauer, Cooper, CCM, MacMillan Bloedel, and the other 2/3rds of Canadian National Railway.

While Chum buys The Beat 94.5

And the Canucks buy some depth. Smolinski and Sopel are now Canucks.

I can't wait for the day where anyone doing anything about climate change will be applauded.

I'm waiting for the day when they won't be applauded--when sustainable behaviour is just common sense and second nature.

Do you honestly think that's going to happen during this generation?

I'm postulating more on what SHOULD happen. Even so, I think it's possible to some extent. Effects continue to mount; awareness continues to grow; climate change is the buzz word du jour; green is the new black.

In my research for a sustainability initiative I've been involved with for the past 7 months (designcanchange.org), I've come across a number of influential organizations and businesses who not only believe the implementation of sustainable practices is responsible, but that it's necessary because consumers will eventually demand it. Having an environmental program in place will be essential for any major business that wants to stay competitive. It won't just be about altruism, it will be a no-brainer business decision.
