Of course, for some, its those evil pro-housing people who are taking advantage of the Olympics. "Funding for Olympic infrastructure projects can't really be said to directly take money out of the hands of our most vulnerable any more than budgeting for doctors and nurses hurts students in our cash-starved schools and universities". Really? Hosting a multi-billion dollar figure skating, luge, and curling party is of equal necessity to health and education?

While Burgess takes a break from travel writing to chime in:
They may have a valid point, but those who oppose the Games need to find a better way to express themselves. I've got a quote for him, from a Republican no less: "Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe". -Frederick Douglas

Harper takes a page from Bush's book and labels Dion a flip-flopper. And the media laps it up.

Prompting Feschuk to offer Stephane some advice: "Here's the thing: Dicks love it when you get all indignant and sputtering over their dickedness. They use their dickian ways to try to needle you, distract you, provoke you. They declare victory (dicktory?) when you explode in righteous outrage. Sure, the dick comes off all dick-like. But you come off like a whiner, easily wounded, the boy who takes his net and goes home when his team falls behind in road hockey. This just in: no one likes the boy who takes his net and goes home".

BC Libs spend 85k worth on pizza. Next time hold the anchovies, something smells fishy.

City fines Emerson foes for illegal postering. Nothing politically motivated there.

Mudslide stops train in its tracks.

While an Avalanche stops the streaking Canucks.
