092407_mb.jpgThe Province versus The Only. "Sensational fear-mongering or informative story-telling? Let us know what you think." The piece is called Thugs: BC's growing menace, and its got a picture of a hooded dude against a brick backdrop for Christ's sake. I mean, you're a backwater tabloid made to appear working class while trumpeting the Fraser Institute's agenda. You're only good for sports, and the occasional fits of laughter to be had when reading Alan Ferguson. Don't you have like a grade 5 reading level or something?

Critics attack Allen's Olympics role. "If you choose to come to Canada, shut up and fit in" Maybe The Province should give him a job instead. Sounds like he'd 'fit in'.

A left-wing think tank said Friday that the B.C. government is misleading voters by intentionally underestimating its budget surpluses. I like how they have to preface the article by saying "a left-wing think tank says...". Whatever, we're only the second-worst province in Canada in how it deals with poverty, low incomes and unemployment, let's cut some taxes.

Without substantial improvements to transit in Vancouver, it will be difficult to make significant progress towards reducing transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2012. Jesus, now we have to rely on Sullivan to cut greenhouse gases? We're fucking doomed.

Our fast-growing region needs better rail service, not more crowded buses. Well, the buses don't arrive crowded, the only reason they are crowded is because there aren't enough of them. Really, its quite simple. But then, war profiteers wouldn't profit and you wouldn't be able to completely tear up neighborhoods to be redesigned as condos.

Cop who punched diabetic loses pay. 'I thought he was drunk'? So, its OK to punch drunk people in the head? Racist.
