010408_mb.jpgMorning Brew: Shielding you from the truth since you were a child.

Co-op radio ordered to justify itself, while the blathering shock rock meatheads at Rock 101 have free reign to make Moe Sihota jokes over and over again. Seriously though, its been like ten years guys.

Downtown Eastside groups at risk of losing offices. Oh but didn't you hear? Sam Sullivan solved the problem, so we don't need you guys anymore.

While the Province admits to sensationalising the DTES drug epidemic, sort of.

Mounties hang out at the drive-through to bust hungry drunks. Sure, that's what they said when they were busted hanging out at the drive-through all night.

Commodifed controversy? As a defender of the homeless and marginalised I have no problem with this photo. The man is a human being, why should we ignore him? Why should we be so pedantic to assume he is put off by an attractive young woman hanging off his shoulder? If anything, we need to interact with the downtrodden, not ignore them. I'll bet the person that wrote this in one of those people who looks away when a crazy person gets on the bus and sits down next to them.

Does nobody have a sense of humour anymore? Mega Man parody video outragous (sic) a nation. I think its fucking hilarious.

Sometimes, the ad-banner database has no heart. See, even tigers eating people can be funny.

The smoke and mirrors of B.C.'s energy use. That headline is ten times better when you realize they're talking about burning coal. But why is this in the business section? Shouldn't it be front page news?

While private company asking to run transmission line through Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. Hey remember when there was that big fight to save B.C. Hydro from being privatised?

Skytrain refurbs coming soon. Nothing controversial here, I'm just a sucker for design.

I love you like I love Fresca....isn't that enough?! A not so ringing endorsement by Peter Ladner.

How will we ever get out of our cars and on to the bus? I dunno, more blogs?

Yeah, I'm not offended by the Megaman video at all. It's political commentary at its most retro.
