Morning Brew: Protecting you from Swirly Faced pedophiles since like forever.
As if you needed another reason to get the hell out of Vancouver circa 2010, China foils terror plot on Olympics. Then again, its not like we've done anything to upset anyone anywhere. We're a nation of Peacekeepers. Right?
As if you needed another reason to get the hell out of Vancouver, the Freedom Spirit Eagles are almost here.
Mayor holding on to war chest. What really gets me is not that Scam Sullivan would hold on to funds destined to his party, that's pretty much a given, the guy is a wheeler and dealer (pun intended), but that people in this city would pay $10,000 to listen to him brag about how he can speak Cantonese and that everybody takes him for granted. TEN THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS???
A week to make you say: Stop the world, I want to get off. Isn't that every week?
Strait of Georgia could be renamed Salish Sea. Which would be fitting since we're also destroying that too.
File under the no-shit Sherlock category, apparently developers had to cancel the 'highest highrise between Surrey and Calgary because they couldn't find enough buyers willing to pay up to $1.1 Million to live in hicksville. I wonder if it was the crackheads in McCallum Park or the Christian fundamentalists?
Park camping case could set precedent. "People arrested in 2005 for setting up a "tent city" in a downtown park launched a court challenge against the city's bylaws, arguing that prohibiting "temporary abodes" such as tents and large tarpaulins for shelter in parks and public spaces interferes with homeless people's security of person, a right guaranteed under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms". Oh well, we'll just have to privatize all the parks.
Agassi aghast at Sea to Sky Highway. No word if he was equally aghast by the death of Harriet Nahanee who died after a getting pneumonia in jail for protesting that same highway. Go back to selling Rebel Sure Shots has-been.
