042508.jpgOlympic merchandising can't get much better than this: The Petro Canada Totem Pole... CD-Roms, keychains, and spirit animal lighters coming to a gas station near you. Will this be a shame pole by default?

Turns out 'BC Hot House' tomatoes are actually grown in Mexico, and the brand is pulling it's label from all imported produce. (Three months after the Tyee originally reported on this...)

A new condo development in the DTES will help keep the homeless homeless. Maybe the city can hand out some of these to compensate. (Not usually a fan of Coupland, but I love that...)

Unrelated to anything, but needs to be seen by all: 'Charlie Rose' by Samuel Beckett

Good news for local music fiends: Pat's Pub improves its sound system...

Local blogger The Aesthetic Poetic posts a beautiful collection of graffiti from Barcelona.

Four times the fear on a Vancouver Sun thursday: we're running out of oil, food, ice, and money.

But don't forget about the black bears! Or just take a listen to the fun sounds of unknown UK artist Black Bear to escape it all.
