Lunch Break: A Capers Sandwich

One of the things I am glad to see making a comeback is the grocery store as a universal place to replenish the soul. When I think about supermarkets I remember the one I had near my house growing up. It had a
restaurant on the side which made for a great shopping experience.
Until recently I had never given that bit of my childhood a second thought, that is, until I discovered sandwiches at Capers Community Market. Yes folks, it is on Robson (depending on the location you choose) but Capers is a worthwhile trip in certain situations.
The way things work at Capers is that the sandwiches are pre-made and can be heated to order. There are lots of "take-away" foods at Capers that fall into this category. The nice thing about the store is that they will
actually cook many of the dishes while you wait so you can eat in-store or on the adjacent patio. The sandwiches are topped up with fresh veggies after cooking and served up hot to you.
What's missing? A soup. By now you have probably discounted me for reviewing something that is "on Robson", but if you're still reading you need to know one last thing: the soup will not break the bank.
This is my greatest piece of wisdom for anyone wanting to eat when you just want to get things done:
The cashiers have a magic card that makes any soup and a sandwich only $8.99 (after tax, no joke).
So when you're sick at home and only one stop must do the job, think about your local grocery store. Capers is just one example, but many other local supermarkets will do.

i think capers sandwiches, and prepared food in general, are overly priced and under flavoured.
