Lunch Break: Incendio Pizzeria

When I think of Vancouver's Gastown I'm often thinking of all the places to get a soup and sandwich at lunch. Today though, I have another pleasure on my mind: the rich and flavourful tastes of Incendio Pizzeria, a well-known haunt for locals and tourists looking to fly under the radar and enjoy some time with friends.
The signature of the Incendio brand is the wood fired brick oven that is used for their home style thin crust pizzas. With all the fresh ingredients kicking around the kitchen this restaurant also features a
wide selection of salads and pasta dishes to keep you coming back when you're not in the mood for a slice.
One of the greatest virtues of Incendio is their casual atmosphere but you may have to wait a little bit for a table. When I dropped in on a Friday night with some friends a few weeks ago we were the only ones in line but still managed to put in about 1/2 hour sitting near the door as the evening rush wrapped up. For parties of more than four I would strongly recommend getting a reservation since table space is tight. Parties of two should have no trouble jumping the line though.
The location is off the beaten track for most people, hidden away on Alexander and Columbia streets with a view of the rail yards across the street. It is worth the trip if you enjoy heritage spaces and foods that
are prepared just right.

Nice write up Ryan, though the food looks a little...unappealing.
