Lunch Time: At Trees Organic Coffee you are always well connected

Trees Organic Coffee is a centrally located café with a decent wireless signal and lunch on hand. The sandwiches are waiting for you at the second counter and two soups are usually on offer. They will toast your sandwich if you want it it that way. Finish your order with a coffee, for Trees has great drip coffee and good organic espresso on offer as well.
By the time you reach your table you should be noticing what a calm and relaxed place this is. It is busy but it is not nearly as frantic as Caffè Artigiano. At times the restaurant is filled with real leaves making it seem more like being outside on a warm autumn day. The difference? You've got wifi. My personal experience with Trees (and I'm only an occasional wifi user) is that their connection is pretty solid. I've had trouble connecting in other cafés but I always get through at Trees. Somebody took the time to do things right.
This café makes a great meeting place for a small group of people. Lunch time gets busy but I am quite certain that at other times of the day you could easily organize a group of 4-6 people in this space. Lately I have seen signage indicating they do performances in the space in the evenings, not something I would have expected at a café in the business district. They also serve a mean cheesecake too but sometimes I think they promote it a little too much. It's good, we get it.
Around this time your sandwich should be arriving. That was really fast right? It's true, the sandwiches never get totally hot here. I'm not sure if that is because the grill doesn't like the sandwiches or if they are always in a hurry to get plates on tables. The sandwiches are tasty so they hold their own. The ingredients are always fresh and plentiful. I'm really glad they serve the sandwiches on real bread, unlike some of the net cafés around town which have reduced their offerings to white bread with a single cut of meat. Trees provides a flavourful sandwich that you will not regret eating when mid-afternoon hits.
If like myself you are doing some consulting these days (shameless plug), you are probably thinking Trees might be a good spot to get some work done. I would say that is a pretty safe assumption. The café has been a little quieter than usual due to construction of the Canada Line, but that project is thankfully almost complete at this location. The café has maintained a strong following through the disruption and this leads me to believe that there are a lot of people out there that really love this place.
