Free Yoga

In Vancouver you're either in one of two groups-a downward dog loving yogi or one of those people who think yoga is stupid and trendy and should go away already. I can understand this-a thousand year old practise has turned into a competitive hot-pant-and-headband wearing trend. However I do appreciate yoga for taking away stress, releasing back pain and giving me more energy. Unfortunately, I rarely find myself motivated to do it at home, and yoga studio fees can be extremely expensive.
While Lululemon Athletica is one of the key contributors to the insane-beyond-reason sweatpant-wearing trend-they are offering free yoga lessons for the willing on Wednesday mornings at 7am at their Robson location. While I don't know if I'm brave enough to do yoga with the lulu staff, you might be-so if you do-drop me a line and tell me how it is.

I'm not against yoga because its trendy, I am against it because it is a self-servin remnant of the me-first, pseudo-hippy, baby boomer generation. Its like as long as they are zen, thats all that matters. Anger and stress are byproducts of hyper capitalism, and if you "tune out" then you are in fact "copping out". In other words, it bourgeoise.
