On Tuesday Argentina tied against The Netherlands and this time 'round the game was at a decent time for us Pacific Standard-types. Since it was mid-day and I have work in the downtown core I decided to cheer my homeland at one of the few pubs that might be full of football aficionados - Malones. Someone had told me that they weren't opening up anymore for the early morning games because some latino ESL students had gone to town on it one morn but the door sign said that they were open at 11.30 and since the game was on at 12 noon I figured it would all work out. And this time 'round I even had company - two Dutch boys. Good times.

I thought Malones would be much more raucous than there was. It's in the middle of ESL school central and there are lunching business men and construction workers and booze. Obviously, the main reason there was little cheering is because there were no goals but it was still kind of disappointing. The game was great, though. Those Dutch played so well and Argentina even better.

The food sucked.
