Preparations for the Pow Pow Gnar Gnar

20061023_snowshow.JPG

The Vancouver Snow Show is this coming weekend. That means it's almost November, which means the snow is coming. Yoop! It's got all sorts of exhibitors, from ski and snowboard retailers selling things at super prices, to all things skiish and snowboardish and a handful of random corporations try to cash in on your extreme lifestyle (and recreational spending habits). Cram it all into the Convention Centre at Canada Place alongside the Canadian Ski Patrol's Ski and Board Swap and you've got a preseason fiesta.

I'm on the market for a new snowboard, since the one I've got is almost 10 years old and almost 10 centimetres too short. So I'm hoping the Snow Show will prove itself to be fruitful this year. If nothing else, at least it gives me the opportunity to use the phrase, "Dude... so stoked" more than necessary.

In other exciting news, the forecast for the top of Whistler-Blackcomb calls for snow. Tiny, tiny amounts and it'll likely be rained away by the end of the week but it's coming!
