A Girl's Sports Guide
Looking over the posts I've made over the past few months, I realized that I haven't covered women's sports in quite a while.
Not a misogynist and seeking to make amends for the neglect, I decided to search around for women's athletic events that are taking place in the next few days.
Up on Burnaby Mountain, the defending national champion Simon Fraser University Women's Basketball team has two games this coming weekend.
Tonight they host the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds at 7 pm in SFU's West Gym and they take on the McMaster Marauders in the same venue on Sunday at noon.
The McMaster game will have many "Thinking Pink" as proceeds from that game will go to the BC/Yukon branch of the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
Also tonight at 7 pm at Cap College in North Van, the SFU women's volleyball team takes part in the Capilano Blues invite.
In Point Grey, the University of BC Women's Basketball team also has two games this weekend and play the same teams as SFU, but in reverse order with McMaster tonight and UNB on Saturday both at 6 pm and at War Memorial Gym.
The UBC Women's Volleyball team is gearing up for a tilt with cross-town rival SFU on Wednesday the 24th at War Memorial at 7 pm.
The UBC Women's Soccer team also has back-to-back games on the weekend hosting Regina on Saturday the 20th and Manitoba the 21st both games at 2 pm, both games at Thunderbird Stadium.
