I remember the Vancouver Canucks' playoff run of 1994 vividly.

The team captured the imagination of the entire Lower Mainland with some exciting games and since the run lasted pretty much all of the spring, the team was able to grow some fabulous playoff beards.

Trevor Linden's was thick and full and so was Dave Babych's, even though he had one heck of a moustache anyways.

In the present, the B.C. Lions are gearing up for the Western Final against the hated Saskatchewan Roughriders and are doing a variation of the playoff beard, sans the hair on the chin.

The brainchild of OL Rob Murphy, who did something similar in his days with the San Francisco 49ers, the entire Lions team, has grown playoff moustaches.

The Canucks grew thick beards back in 1994 and just missed out on the Stanley Cup.

Hopefully the Lions will successfully defend their Grey Cup title while all the while doing their best Tom Selleck impressions.

The team is even taking part in the Movember initiative to raise awareness for Men's Health Issues.

The Lions take to the field against the Green Riders at 1:30 p.m. PST on Sunday under the Dome.

Looks like Toronto's team was beaten as well . . . by the New England Patriots.
