Enter Sandman

Much like George Costanza, when things are going well, I don't tend to focus on the positives but rather on what could be potentially negative.
Vancouver Canucks GM Dave Nonis pulled what many consider one of the most lopsided deals in NHL history when he acquired Roberto Luongo, Lukas Krajicek and a draft pick from Florida for Todd Bertuzzi, Alex Auld and Bryan Allen.
Luongo and Krajicek are still Canucks and only Allen continues to wear Panther colours; I guess this sort of makes up for the Cam Neely deal.
With Luongo between the pipes last season, the Canucks captured the Northwest Division title and all I could think was, "I hope Luongo doesn't injure himself" and "When is this hot streak going to end?"
Vancouver's No. 1 was relatively unscathed last year, but he did manage to sustain an injury this year.
Much to everyone's relief, it was just a rib contusion and while it is making life difficult for Louie and he hasn't played in a few games, it's not too serious.
Unlike Dany Sabourin last year, current backup (although he's the starter with Luongo's injury) Curtis Sanford didn't take a few games to get his first win and was undefeated before No. 1 went down.
The man dubbed the "Sandman" was sensational against the Ducks but he didn't get help in a loss to San Jose.
Of course it's better to have our superstar goalie in net, but I think Sanford will more than suffice for the time being.
