Here's One Looking At You Sid
I had the honor of first watching Sidney Crosby play when he was with the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and he managed to score 10-points in the game I attended.
A lot of time has passed since then and Sid "The Kid" has made it to the big leagues, taken first overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005.
But up until last Saturday's game between the Canucks and Penguins, many in the Van City hadn't had a chance to catch him thanks to the NHL's schedule makers.
Crosby was supposed to take part in the 2005 CHL Prospects game at the Pacific Coliseum but pulled out due to injury, prompting criticism from Vancouver Giants owner Ron Toigo.
Well Vancouverites finally got a chance to watch No. 87 and from the looks of things Crosby made up for lost time.
Tickets to the game were a hot commodity and available for a King's Ransom.
Thanks to Vancouver netminder Roberto Luongo though Crosby didn't score 10 points, or any points for that matter, but the Canucks still managed to lose in a shootout.
Still there is a lot more hockey to be played for Vancouver and for the fans it was a chance to see a potential Hall of Famer quite possibly for the first time but not the last.
