March Madness B.C. Style: 2008 Telus AAA Boys Basketball Championships
I know you Vancouver sports fans. You're probably jumping off the bandwagon since the Canucks lost to the Ducks last night and Roberto Luongo wasn't all that sharp, but there is more to the local sports scene than just hockey.
Last week the Girls 'AAA' basketball championship took place at Capilano College, between Elgin Park and Riverside, in a thriller that went into OT.
The girls set the bar pretty high, but the boys will attempt to equal or surpass the intensity at the PNE Agrodome this week.
The 2008 Telus B.C. Boys 'AAA' Basketball Provincial Championships began on Tuesday and is the 63rd incarnation of the tournament.
Featuring teams throughout the province of British Columbia including local teams from Vancouver College and Kitsilano; teams from close by such as Terry Fox and Pitt Meadows and teams from out of town such as Kelowna, 20 teams in total will vie for the B.C. high school basketball title.
The semifinals will take place Friday while the championship will take place Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at the door and at Ticketmaster and are $8 for Adults in the early rounds and $10 in the semis and championship.
For Students and Seniors it's $6 for the early and $8 for the later rounds.
Reserved seating for the championship game is $15.
