You can do it, for "The Waterboy"

I remember back in the nineties when we used to go to B.C. Lions games; we would buy nosebleed seats and sneak down to the lower section.

B.C. Place was so empty back then the security guards didn't really care.

When I caught the Western Final back in 1999, the announced attendance was only around 29,000 if memory serves me correctly.

Under 30,000 for a West Final? Numbers unheard of considering the last few Western Finals under the Dome have been near capacity (but not sold out).

We've come a long way baby.

Increased attendance is one of the many things that happened under the guidance of the late, great Bob Ackles but looking at the attendance for the only home game in 2008, only 33,000 and change showed up.

One of the suggestions bandied about as a means to pay tribute to the Lions' former waterboy, is a sold out B.C. Place; one of the prez and CEO's biggest wishes.

The Lions host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this Friday and tickets can be pricey but seeing as the game will also feature a tribute to Ackles, why not give one of the most beloved figures in the B.C. sports history what he wanted most?

Ticketmaster lists seats as cheap as $27.00 but that is probably without the umpteen dozen gas tax-like service charges.

7-Eleven has a good deal with two tickets only setting you back $39.98 (not including tax); heck you even get a Sports Action ticket and a free Slurpee to boot.

Let's put some asses in those seats on Friday.
