aidswalk2-br.jpgThe B.C. Persons With Aids Society will be holding the 21st annual Walk for Life at Stanley Park on Sunday, September 24th. The walk raises money for the BCPWA so the organization can continue to provide people who are living with HIV and AIDS with many of the necessities that are not always covered or accessible. They not only provide medical support, but essential emotional support as well. The walk is now a national event that began right here in B.C. in 1986.

There are a few ways to get involved. One option is to register with the BCPWA on their website, and then create your own pledge site where you can e-mail friends, family, or co-workers and request pledges. Another way is to simply fill out a pledge sheet and turn it in with the money collected on the day of the walk. It may be a little late to get going on these options, but it's never too late to donate to the cause, and you can do so by visiting the BCPWA website or calling 604-915-WALK. The more people that take part in the walk, the more attention and awareness is brought to an issue that affects all of us.
