december_01_06_chinacreek.jpgAnd another stage in the ongoing saga of the historic China Creek skatepark quickly approaches. The Parks Planning Committee is having a meeting on Tuesday, December 5th wherein the planners will present the Parks Board with their ideas for the future of China Creek South Park. This is the last public meeting before the Parks Board make their final decision in early 2007. It's been a long and sometimes ugly process that has polarized opinions, inspired community events, and generated media attention for Mount Pleasant neighbourhood residents on both sides of the fence. Expect the meeting on Tuesday to be a lively one.

The meeting is going to be held at the Parks Board Administration Building at 2099 Beach Ave. and is open to the public. Anyone who wants to speak should call Barbara Joughin to register (604-257-8452). Each speaker gets 3-5 minutes in the spotlight, which means that there's no time for jive, you jive turkey. People who can't make it but have something to say can contact all of the commissioners by sending an e-mail to pbcomment@vancouver.ca.
