Awhile back I nominated Beyond Robson for a bunch of categories in this year's Canadian Blog Awards. I was totally stoked because our readership has grown big time since the last time (we were only a few months old when the CBA hit in 2005) and I had a great spamming strategy devised (it's all about daily reminders and incentives like make out sessions and coupons). But round one came and went without registering. I may have written it down in my agenda but I don't even open it up anymore.

Not like it matters all that much though... if we had won something it would have been because we were out promoting, lobbying and whoring ourselves - something that would have probably affected the blog negatively. So, you, the reader, should be happy that Beyond Robson is beyond awards even though it was more forgetfulness than principles.

blogTO has made it to the second round of voting so if you would like to support the Freshdaily network be my guest and vote away.

I was really bummed that you didn't make the 2nd round. You had everyone of my votes. I guess it's tough to compete when other blogs where linking to the CBA page and encouraging their readers to vote daily, and Beyond Robson did nothing.

Neither Metroblogging sites that were nominated made it to round 2 and I know Metblogs Vancouver didn't say a peep about being on there.

I'm pretty darn sure the likes of Matthew Good, Raymi, Rick Mercer, Inside the CBC, and many others didn't make posts about voting for them either. And look, they made it to round 2.

That's an excellent observation Rebecca. Unfortunately you overlooked the fact that MG, Raymi, RM and CBC aren't region/city specific and therefore have a much larger audience. Are you picking up what I'm putting down?
